UniformsA police uniform signifies to the public that the person wearing it has the right and the duty to enforce the law. New police uniforms were introduced between 1998 and 2000. They were divided into different categories for different purposes. There are separate uniforms for patrol duties and for desk jobs. The general rule is that the uniforms in different categories should not be mixed. The provisions on the use of police uniforms are laid down in the Decree on Police Uniforms. Police uniforms or any articles of police clothing may be worn only by a police officer. No one even has the right to wear any uniform or article that may be confused with a police uniform or any part of it. Using the police emblem or anything resembling it is also forbidden. A police chief may allow a police uniform to be used in a theatre performance or similar event. Back | Print page | |
